Chief Technology Officer/VP Engineering

Position Overview: As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will drive the technological vision of PathPresenter and oversee the development and integration of our digital pathology solutions within the healthcare ecosystem. Leading a team of more than 30 indirect reports, you will ensure seamless execution of our product roadmap while aligning technology with business objectives. This role requires deep expertise in healthcare IT, particularly in digital pathology and medical imaging, along with proficiency in CISCO technologies. Additionally, you will represent PathPresenter at industry events through public speaking and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the technology strategy aligned with PathPresenter’s business goals and growth targets.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a large engineering and technical team, ensuring effective collaboration across departments.
- Oversee the development, integration, and optimization of PACS and digital pathology platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Drive innovation in medical imaging by leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance user experience and performance.
- Act as a key spokesperson for PathPresenter at conferences, webinars, and industry events, positioning the company as a leader in digital pathology.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business development, product, and marketing strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and manage risks in technology implementation and data handling.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in IT, with a significant focus on healthcare IT leadership roles, ideally within digital pathology or PACS.
- Proven experience as a CTO or in a similar senior leadership role, preferably in a startup environment, managing teams of 30+ indirect reports and leading cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in medical imaging platforms and cloud-based solutions.
- Proficiency in CISCO technologies and IT infrastructure, with a focus on networking and system security.
- Strong public speaking skills, with the ability to present complex technologies in a clear and accessible manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic, data-driven decisions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
- AI experience is a plus, particularly in healthcare applications.
